about
I was raised on New Silver Beach in North Falmouth. After high school, I attended the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth where I double majored in English Literature and Writing. After a stint as an editorial assistant for a global computer trade show company, I went back to college to earn my Master’s Degree in Teaching English. I have taught at both the college and high school level. I currently teach English at Old Rochester Regional High School in Mattapoisett, MA.
I started writing in elementary school. I loved the sound of words, and my favorite poet and inspiration was Shel Silverstein. Since then I have published poetry, articles, essays, and books. I knew from a very young age that no matter what career I pursued, I would always write. My tastes have changed since elementary school, though I still enjoy Shel Silverstein! Other inspirations include F. Scott Fitzgerald, Margaret Atwood, Toni Morrison, and Edgar Allan Poe. Presently, my favorite author is Agatha Christie.
I live in Fairhaven, MA, with my husband, Robert, and our two children, Baylen and Mariel.
